When I received this product, it was broken. One of the plastic cable coverings was cracked and split down the middle. The shelves are sturdy enough for smaller things, but large stereo components do not fit, and are too heavy for the glass.
Be carefull putting them on as they WILL break if forced. The mount worked out great for me. The directions where tough, but not impossible. Very sturdy unit that is good looking and well made. The only complaint I have is that the plastic covers that hide the wires are fragile. I'de buy it again. For the money I have NEVER seen a better one.
The shelves are sturdy however my surround sound system is a little too large for it. I could not figure out how you are supposed to get the wires through it to each shelf. Okay I thought I was going to put this shelving system up and then have a great looking set up. The core of the system is very secure to the wall. If I had this would have been perfect but then again would I need a wire management system.As far as having nice shelves it is okay, hiding wires without them being in the wall is better than nothing but do not expect not to see ANY wires. My DISH satellite box barely fits on the shelf. There are 3 pieces.
I aslo could not get the RCA jack (3 cords wide) to fit behind it. I followed the directions and the shelving system went up just as promised. Yes it looks neater but I was expecting it to hide the cords a little better. Okay so now I have the shelf up and have to add the components. After you get that part up you have to put the covers on. I did not fish any wires in the wall. I had a bundle of wires at the bottom and had to put my sub woofer under the bottom shelf to hide the wires.
If minimalistic is your style then this is the product for you. Looks great. Works wonderfully with the decor.
nice looking unit, pretty easy to assemble, although the instructions are a little vague. hiding of cables still leaves a little to be desired. overall i would say it is definitely worth the price here on amazon, however, probably not worth the $199 retail price you will find it selling for in regular stores.
